North Korea test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile early Thursday, for the first time since December 2023.
The launch signalled a potential advancement in the North’s ability to launch long-range nuclear attacks on the U.S. and was likely intended to grab American attention on the eve of its presidential election.
The launch comes as thousands of North Korean troops are expected to deploy in combat against Ukrainian forces in the coming days.
