I had the good fortune of joining an @Ecoflight with @pcecmt this week.

We packed into a little 6-seater plane and circled the Crazy Mountains. This island range - not far from Yellowstone – and the area surrounding it is a messy mix of private and public land.

One of the objectives of the flight was to view this sometimes conflict-ridden landscape from the air and meet other locals that know the land and are engaged in the land stewardship and public access discussions in the range.

Seeing it all from above was fascinating — the trails that I’ve hiked with friends and kids, the Forest Service Cabins where we’ve spent the night, the ranches and private inholdings I’ve scooted around, and so much more.

The change in perspective was priceless.

(One of my jobs is doing social media for Park County Environmental Council - an organization dedicated to working with our community to safeguard the land, water, wildlife, and people of Yellowstone’s Northern gateway through grassroots organizing and community advocacy.)
