Leonardo Garnier is the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary General for the Transforming Education Summit. He is also an Associate Professor in Economics at the Universidad de Costa Rica, and served as Costa Rica´s Minister of Planning and Economic Policy from 1994 to 1998 and as Minister of Education from 2006 to 2010 and from 2010 to 2014.
