There are so many colors to choose from when you are buying oil paints. When you are beginning all you need is black, white, red, yellow and blue. However, there isn’t a “blue” or “red” or “yellow” paint color. There is cadmium red medium, cadmium red light and more. This short demonstration will show you a variety of colors so you can which color will work best for you. I will paint the solid color with my palette knife, then thin it out with turpentine and paint it with a paintbrush. I am using Utrecht brand oil paint because they are priced well, and they have a nice variety of colors.
