Mihrimah Sultan is the daughter of Suleiman the Magnificent (Suleiman the 1'st). And this mosque is built by the order of Suleiman the Magnificent for the name of his dougter (Mihrimah Sultan). The architect is Mimar Sinan.
It is near the Uskudar Pier. It is also called as Pier Mosque (because it is so close to pier).
It has an avlu (garden) which many people use for pray for resting etc.
The reddish ornaments on the ceiling of the muezzin place (where he calls people to pray) is excellent !!!
The sadirvan (where people take wudu) has 24 corners and it represents the each hour in a day. So it silently tells people that "Do not waste your time, it continuously flows you can never ever go back. Try to catch it now".
Because it has been built in the time of suleiman the magnificent, it has gorgeous acrhitectiral style and rich ornaments (mostly gold or gold coloured).
