Crowds across the country poured out into the street to celebrate St Georges Day (pictured left and right). More than 5,000 people paraded in Nottingham - which organisers said was one of the biggest in the UK. In London mayor Sadiq Khan led the celebrations and said that he was proud to see the flag of St George in London's city hall. He added that other civic leaders should feel less embarrassed about showing off their patriotism.
