Lorenzo Charles scored the last second winning basket for NC State in the 1983 NCAA National Championship Game when he dunked Dereck Whittenburg's missed shot.

It was a favorite memory of mine growing up in Cary, North Carolina, as I'm sure it was for a lot of my classmates at West Cary Junior High in 1983.

In April 2007, while producing some video clips for the Cary High Class of 1987 20-year Reunion, Steve Gillooly and myself bumped into Lorenzo Charles. Steve is friends with Lorenzo and asked him if it would be okay if we videotaped a thank you to him for making the winning dunk.

Lorenzo graciously agreed.

My thanks again to Lorenzo for creating that wonderful memory of the Cardiac Pack and Jimmy V in 1983 and for wishing the Cary High Class of 1987 well at our 20-year Reunion.
