5yrs and 170k with this Bull bar and sidesteps now and still no issues.

It looks mean, because it is, it does what a bull bar is supposed to do and that's to protect your engine, your passengers and yourself if you were to be in an accident.
It's definitely no cheap China made bar that cracks as you leave the workshop (A_B...not to mention any names) not from experience, just the word on the street.
