This is the fourth Chiltern Society talk, celebrating our green landscape.
This talk was led by our guest Catherine Moncrieff – Associate Director Water Security at Carbon Disclosure Project & Chiltern Society Trustee with talk host Harriet Bennet, Chiltern Society Trustee.
Catherine has worked on water issues across the globe, from China to sub-saharan Africa and – of course – the Chilterns. She has seen the “water crisis” from many different perspectives – currently working with the world’s biggest businesses and their investors to reduce their impact on rivers and lakes, and previously working at WWF where she saw water issues from the perspective of farmers and fishermen.
Catherine will explain how water is more relevant than ever – making links with climate change, nature’s destruction and the global pandemic. She’ll tell us why the chalk streams of the Chilterns are so important, why they are under threat, and the changes we can make in our everyday lives to keep them flowing.
