One person was injured when a package exploded after being opened at Boston's Northeastern University on Tuesday, according to police and the school.
The package was mailed to Holmes Hall on campus around 7 p.m. and detonated shortly thereafter when a staff member opened it, the university said, according to NBC10 Boston. A reporter with the outlet said the package detonated 15 minutes after delivery, around 7:15 p.m. Boston Emergency Services tweeted at 7:56 p.m. that it had taken one person to the hospital. Another suspicious package was reported to police near the Museum of Fine Arts Boston but was just an empty suitcase.
