The sound of machines.
This mix, a tenuous attempt to subject “Premonition” to dub culture techniques, includes the Peel version (1979-12-19) and the Futurama 3 festival rendition, which took place in September 1981. As such, it’s not strictly “period correct” since McGee had jumped ship by then. Still, it’s close enough and therefore the echoplexed guitar flurries have been included (e.g. around the four minute mark). Otherwise, no added ingredients except for snippets of “Veldt” which have been sprinkled liberally all over this dayglow council estate soufflé.
That bassline, though.
