(19 Sep 2015) An Afghan refugee in the Croatian border town of Beli Manastir hoping to reach western Europe with her family told of her desperation after two of her children had been missing for two days.
34-year-old Marian Jamshid from Hirat sobbed as she described her family's struggles in the makeshift camp provided by Croatian authorities on the territory of former military barracks.
She said her husband had remained in Greece, as she with her 3 children - two girls aged seven and 12 and a 15 year-old boy - continued their journey.
One of her daughters who has Down syndrome, was brought by ambulance to hospital and when Marian came back to the camp, her other children were gone.
Volunteers from the Red Cross and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees searched for the missing children but so far their efforts have proved futile.
As refugees and migrants are not registered on the way, it is hard to keep track of them.
On Saturday, most of the refugees and migrants in Beli Manastir were taken to Hungary by Croatian authorities.
The whole operation happened hurriedly.
Some of the refugees were left behind.
