Supercharge Your Jigsaw
Perma-Grit blades are the best solution for cutting composite laminates with a Jigsaw. Perma-Grit products have tungsten carbide welded to tough mild steel. These blades will cut in both directions, filing the edges smooth during the cut. They can be used to cut carbon fiber, fiberglass and all other composites with ease. The tungsten carbide grit minimize or eliminate the chipping of gel coat when cutting a finished laminate. Perma-Grit's special grit will not dull and they is less expensive but more aggressive than diamond materials. Jigsaws are primarily recommended for use when making large cuts or cutting flat sheets. You can use a jigsaw to make straight or curved cuts without chipping the finished surface. We recommend cutting just shy of your intended finish cut line and using Perma-Grit Sanding Blocks or files to finish your edge. Perma-Grit products do not easily load or get clogged with resin or other materials. These blades can be cleaned by soaking in a solvent such as acetone to remove resin.
