Ben Ainslie secured his maiden Olympic title at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, winning gold in the men's laser event. Ainslie went on to become the most successful sailor in Olympic history, after winning further titles at Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
