How to Paint Realistic Goldfinches with Oil Paints with Suzanne Barrett Justis
In this video, I will show how to paint realistic birds with oil paints. First, I primed my canvas with an acrylic ground and then stenciled a damask pattern with metallic spray paint. Once it was dry, I was able to proceed with the oil paints for the goldfinches and purple cone flowers. The paint colors used were green gold, hansa yellow, cad yellow light, Italian green umber, olive green, ivory black, van dyke brown and dioxazine purple for the Godfinches. I used magenta, brilliant pink, dioxazine purple, sap green, ivory black, burnt sienna, cad yellow med for the cone-flowers
