In this talk I'll show how to make use of Asterisk and XMPP to create tools and facilities that can improve the customer and the user experience.
I'll start with a brief XMPP protocol introduction and its support in Asterisk and then I'll demonstrate two projects (both PoC) that I'm developing:
* IVR's Data Delivery ([ Ссылка ]), that can be used to expose the data entered in IVR to other softwares used in a company in a simple manner. Using Asterisk ARI API and XMPP this project can optimize the customer experience. And using res_xmpp, the internal user experience can be improved by earlier caller identification.
* XyBot ([ Ссылка ]): XyBot was created to allow users to interact with Asterisk directly from their IM (XMPP) client. In our "unified communications" times, this project shows how to create your own features to attend your needs.
In the end, with the participation of audience, we will discuss more uses of this kind of integration.
