There are twenty species of small ape across ten countries in Asia; the geographic and political spread of their distribution presents challenges for their conservation. In this talk, Dr Susan Cheyne, co-director of the Borneo Nature Foundation, will discuss a series of case studies where sound scientific research is leading to direct conservation actions, as well as bespoke outreach and education activities that combine science and culture.
