Of course Frank Wilson is "the" version...the rarity of the original elevated it to the stuff of myths, the Excalibure of northern soul. But Chris Clark's version has grown on me.

Uploaded this in memory of the record seller I talked to at the 100 Club in the early 1990s. I have a vivid memory of excitedly pulling a copy of Frank Wilson from his record box, like a puppy I pointed out that this is what the DJ should be playing, not the sounds that were closer to Barbara Streisand than they were to Barbara Randolf... 'not if you've heard it every night for 20 years' came the voice of experience. Fair point...
At least this is an honest bootleg - no attempt to pose as the realy thing or create a new label... as white label as Mopsy's acetates
