The Kaybiang Tunnel was built in 2009 and opened in 2013. It is a highway tunnel that passes through Mount Palay-Palay National Park, also called “Mt. Pico de Loro.” It connects the towns of Ternate in Cavite and Nasugbu in Batangas and is located along the Nasugbu-Ternate Highway. The longest road tunnel in the Philippines as of this moment is the 300-meter-long Kaybiang Tunnel.

Due to its popularity, Kaybiang Tunnel experiences heavy weekend visitor traffic. If you’re traveling by car, drive slowly and cautiously along the winding road leading to the tunnel. When you enter Kaybiang Tunnel, turn on your headlights because it is completely dark inside, and no light can pass through.
How do you get to Kaybiang Tunnel?
The Nasugbu-Ternate Highway, which connects Cavite and Batangas via ridges close to Manila Bay, provides access to the Kaybiang Tunnel.
If you’re traveling from Manila, buses leaving PTIX will pass via the Kaybiang Tunnel on their way to Nasugbu. If you’re driving your car, you only need to pass via Tanza and Naic Cavite to get to the Nasugbu-Ternate Highway.
