When it comes to graduation gifts, I have two approaches: either celebrate the milestone with gifts purely designed for fun and much-needed reprieve or get gifts that will set graduate up for their next stage of life.

In this video, I'll share some gift ideas for both. Now, of course, these gift ideas revolve around gift cards because I still think it's important to give graduates a choice in the experience they most want to have, but I'll also share ideas on how to make each of these gift cards for graduates feel personal and thoughtful. Just remember: celebrate right now or pave the way for future goals.

We'll also talk about graduation at different levels. A middle school graduate, for example, doesn't have the same transition coming that a high school or college graduate does. And that's ok. It's still an opportunity to celebrate and congratulate for a job well done.

I'll also walk through the spectrum of gift cards starting with the most flexible, because one thing I know is that the easier it is to use a gift card, the more likely you are to use it. So if your graduate is sticking around, then you know the stores, restaurants and websites most likely to be utilized. But if graduate is heading to a new town and a new life, then a gift card that doesn't have to be used locally is probably a better choice. I'll give you options for that as well.
