In this Video Essay, I will dive into the meaning behind the art, history, and philosophy of the 'Stanza della Segnatura' by Raffaello Sanzio, one of the greatest painters who ever lived. The Stanza consists of five frescoes, the most famous of which is the 'School of Athens'. However, to fully understand the meaning and symbolism of the art of the School, you need to have a proper understanding of the room; the fresco 'the Disputation of the Most Holy Sacrament' in particular.
