Bangladesh has improved its civil registration and vital statistics #CRVS system with great ambition.
By empowering community-level workers to help families register births and deaths, in two years the country saw a ten-fold increase in completeness of birth registration, and death registration increased from two percent to 71 percent, in areas where the system was originally implemented.
With some adaptation, the system has since been scaled across the country.
