The Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities appeals for safer festive holidays for all South Africans and for the protection of vulnerable
groups, which include women, children, and persons with disabilities.
Since the beginning of the 2024 holiday season, the scourge of Gender-Based Violence, as well as intimate partner violence incidents, have been reported in many of our country's villages and provinces, with men predominantly as perpetrators and women and children the unfortunate victims.
