U.S. President Joe Biden on March 28 said he was concerned about the possibility that Russia would send tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus.
"They haven't done that yet," Biden told reporters at the White House, but he added, "that's dangerous kind of talk he's using, and it's worrisome."
Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 25 said Russia had struck a deal with neighboring Belarus to station tactical nuclear weapons on its territory.
Belarus on Tuesday confirmed it will host Russian tactical nuclear weapons, saying the decision was a response to years of Western pressure, including sanctions and what it said was a military buildup by NATO members near its borders.
