Oklo and NuScale Power surged after Google announced the world's first corporate agreement to purchase power from multiple small modular reactors (SMRs) to support AI energy needs.
Google plans to buy energy from seven reactors built by Kairos Power, aiming for 500 MW of nuclear power starting at the end of the decade; financial terms were not disclosed.
Kairos still requires additional permits from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and local agencies, though it has a permit for a demonstration reactor in Tennessee.
