(2 Dec 2018) A group of Serb MPs is refusing to leave Kosovo's Parliament, as part of a protest demanding the removal of 100 percent tariffs on goods imported from Serbia.
The parliamentarians hung a banner inside their office reading: "100% Taxes = 0% Freedom".
Sasa Milosavljevic, an MP from the Serb List party, said those protesting wanted to meet Johannes Hahn, the EU's Commissioner for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.
Milosavljevic warned that unless the taxes were lifted, there would be major food shortages in Kosovo.
The European Union previously warned Kosovo that the imposition of tariffs was a clear violation of the Central European Free Trade agreement or CEFTA.
