A rental checkout is something that all places that have aircraft for rent will do for you when you with your license come and want to rent from them. It is an insurance requirement, but often this is something pilots find themselves being nervous about. The only reason to be nervous should be is if you didn't study before hand! Think of your checkout flight as a step towards becoming proficient again, trust me I was there. After I go through what a checkout flight consists of, I have the video from the second time I went and flew after not flying for 8 months! I was not only not current, I had lost some of those psychomotor skills that are required to fly the airplane. Enjoy my journey to becoming current again!
