I’m at the Vista Theater, owned by director, screenwriter and actor Quentin Tarantino who’s opened Coffy, a brand new coffee shop with his imaginative style and touches of retro charm. As I stepped inside, the '70s-inspired decor caught my eye, with vintage posters adorning the walls and old movies playing on TVs.
The coffee shop, is named after the iconic 1973 film starring Pam Grier who seeks violent revenge against a heroin dealer responsible for her sister's addiction. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and I couldn't resist trying their custom-roasted drip coffee from Pasadena's Jones Coffee Roasters. If you’re hungry for a snack, there are $5 cereal bowls and pastries available to enjoy in the cozy atmosphere
I decided to go for the popular Iced Butterscotch Caramel latte. The rich flavors combined perfectly with the crushed ice, creating a refreshing and indulgent treat. I have to admit that I prefer my coffee a little less sweet. It was nice to sip as I immersed myself in the ambiance of the shop.
One thing that stood out to me was their pet-friendly policy. They welcomed furry friends with open arms, making it a perfect spot for pet owners to enjoy a cup of coffee with their companions. The friendly staff even had treats for the pets.
From the vintage vibes to the coffee, what a unique and cozy coffee shop experience.
