A brand new Kawasaki R211A (A) train, 4085-4089 + 4095-4099, departs 34th Street/Penn Station, with 14th Street as its next stop, as it prepares to bypass 23rd Street. This train was bound for Far Rockaway, via Central Park West, 8th Avenue and Fulton Street Express. Due to construction, the train departed the station at a very slow speed.

After two years of anticipation, the R211As are finally here!

Four R211A consists, 4060-4089, 4095-4099 and 4120-4124 are in service as of 8/21/23. The R46s will soon be retired by them, once over 11 R211As are in service. 440 R211A cars are expected out of the Base Order in total, along with 20 R211Ts and 75 R211Ss. Additionally, 640 Option I R211As, and up to 437 Option II R211s (style not yet confirmed) are expected to arrive afterward. The Base Order and some of the first option will be heading to the (A) and (C) lines. Therefore, the R46s on the (A) and (C) will be going extinct first. Catch them while you still can!
