When Qatar won the right to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in 2010, the country didn't have a single stadium which met FIFA's World Cup requirements.
Over the next twelve years, Qatar spent $6.5 billion on eight enormous stadiums, promising to transform them into hotels, community hubs, and to deconstruct and ship some to developing countries after the tournament.
It was a key part of Qatar's winning bid, so in this video, one year on from the 2022 World Cup, HITC Sevens takes a look at what has so far happened to Qatar's World Cup stadiums, whether they and FIFA have kept their promises, and the legacy of the 2022 World Cup as a whole.
