Typhoon Bopha is now no longer over the Philippines today but still outer rain bands from this storm continue to impact the Philippine Coast, specifically in Northern Luzon inflow in to the storm will still bring heavy rain showers through the next several days.
The long range forecast of Bopha is becoming more clear today as the storm slows and begins to linger in the south china sea. Right now it should slowly drift North East, but weakening while doing so leaving major landmasses in the region spared from destructive and damaging winds. Luzon can still see wet weather from Bopha and minor flooding is still possible. But nothing compared to the destruction we are seeing in the south.
We also take a look north in to Japan where a severe low pressure area is kicking up winds over 100kph across Hokkaido and Northern Honshu. Power outages and hazardous driving conditions have been seen. But for the snow boarder and skier they are rejoicing.
