Thirteen-year-old old Jeremie Allen is battling a disease that’s impacting his kidneys and liver.
“He was born with this disease Polycystic kidney disease which means many cysts grow on the kidneys rendering them useless," Jeremie's mother Angelita Allen said.
Some days are good for Jeremie while others are extremely bad. Jeremie wants a normal life like any other teenager, but his mother Angelita says that can’t happen until he gets a new kidney and liver.
Jeremie’s kidneys were removed when he was 18-months-old. He received his first kidney transplant at the age of two.
But at 10 years old, he suffered kidney failure. Now, he’s on dialysis three times a week.
Jeremie’s parents are hoping to get him listed in other states for organ donations.
There’s a benefits program for Jeremie this Sunday at the First United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America located in Birmingham.
The event starts at 3 p.m. The church is located at 1843 Bessemer Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35208.
