Jack opens the show with a report from Steve Wyatt about a mud slide at Alberta Creek near Lions Bay, that had happened at 3:30 in the morning that day. Jack speaks with John Burns, Lions Bay resident by telephone. Jack speaks with Allan Fotheringham about the Tory convention, and Joe Clark’s leadership of the Progressive Conservatives; the possibility of Alberta Premier Peter Lougheed running as Tory leader; other members of the PC who may run for Leader; Jack and Allan take calls. Clive Jackson, BCTV reporter staggers into the studio with an update on the Alberta Creek slide, and provides rough footage and the story of his own close escape. Jack speaks by telephone with BC Highways Minister Alex Fraser. Actor Gordon Jump comes on to stump for the BC Variety Club telethon. To close the show, Jack show film from the Alberta Creek slide and speaks by telephone to Sergeant Frank Kelly of the Squamish RCMP, and confirms two dead in the slide.
