At the mandis (market yards), harvested paddy is getting soaked in the rain as there are no platforms or sheds for protection. Such poor conditions are prevalent in over a hundred mandis. Farmers are complaining that despite the Regulated Market Committee (RMC) collecting lakhs of rupees in taxes annually, necessary infrastructure has not been built, leading to this crisis. They are suffering due to the lack of basic facilities to protect their crops.
