Hi friends,
So before we start today there are a couple things to know about this project. First, the video is sped up but you can change the speed by tapping your screen and hitting the 3 little dots to adjust the playback speed. Second, the lengths of cords we add on are different lengths so please watch the whole way through so you will know what goes where. Third, I have measured out the cords after making this several times to perfect the pattern but it is always a good idea to ADD/CUT A FEW EXTRA INCHES on each cord to allow some room for mistakes, looser knots, slightly thicker cords etc. Next, this is an important one, is once you have done this once, it's easy to remember and reproduce once you have this pattern down packed, so slow down the video, pause, what ever you need to fully grasp and comprehend this video, it will be worth it, I promise!!!
** TIP: When using a 3ply rope for projects I always tape the ends to prevent them from coming undone!
The knots used to create this minimalist Christmas tree are, the Larks Head Knot, Double Hitch Knots, and one Gathering knot at the end. If you need help with these knots, or are new to macrame, please watch these quick tutorials first:

The final product measures 14 inches tall and 6.25 inches wide. If you want to make this bigger, you can add more cords to the TOP starting at 7.5 foot cords and adding an extra 6-8 inches onto each following cord to allow room for the extra knots. For each additional rope added, you will have to cut the extra length for all other cord, example, if you want to add 2 more cords, add them to the top and since there will be 2 more, you must add at least 12 to 16 inches onto each and every cord length listed in the video!
For this video I used 3.5mm, 3 ply rope from my favourite fibre supplier, Ganxxet.
