Today I'm testing the speed and efficiency of two PVC bows. Both are made by other people, mainly to show the difference in efficiency between 1" and 3/4" PVC pipe bows. Both bows are very similar in design (if you don't count the snakey curves) and have a similar amount of reflex.
I'm shooting 10gpp arrows in the main test, and also some lighter and heavier arrows so you guys can see what arrow weight does to a bow's speed. I'm also testing at 28", you could squeeze more FPS out of these bows by increasing the draw length.
The sky was blue, not overcast enough to test without the light diffusers on my chronograph yet not bright enough to give good light. So excuse all the errors and misreadings. (I usually get errors because the arrows don't come off shoot-around handle bows very straight. ERR1 means the first camera didn't pick up the arrow and ERR2 means the second camera didn't pick up the arrow. Bad light conditions can make this worse. The slow readings are usually from the first camera getting the point and the second camera getting another part of the arrow behind the point.) I usually edit that out, but I'm including it here with minimal editing. I did cut out some parts to save about 5 extra minutes of me running to get the arrows (mainly shots of my butt and feet).
Thanks for watching and enjoy!
