New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday conferred Padma awards at the Rastrapati Bhawan. Padma Awards are one of the most prestigious honours in the country. Padma Awards' list of recipients was out earlier where a number of dignitaries were named and were awarded today.
Veteran actor Rajnikanth and classical singer Girija Devi have been awarded with the highest honour Padma Vibhushan. The ‘desi’ girl of Bollywood was conferred with Padma Shri award.
Tennis player Sania Mirza and badminton player Saina Nehwal have been awarded Padma Bhushan.
