Russian president Vladimir Putin received the red carpet treatment in Mongolia as their government ignored calls for him to be arrested on a warrant for alleged war crimes in Ukraine.

The Mongolian government has said in a statement to Politico that it was difficult to arrest Putin due to its position of energy dependence on Moscow.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, a Russian strike killed 51 people and wounded 271 in a central region of the country.
