We started from Marrakesh by cab to Imlil. Hiked until the refuge where we camped. The next morning left for the summit. We basically went from sea level to 3000m+ in several hours and then to 4000+ after 1 night.
It was my first climb after a surgery. I found it very difficult as I was quite unfit and had a huge heavy pack. However it's normally an easy trek and a very accessible first 4000er.
We didn't have any guide and there's no need for one as the trail is clear. However Tantawi, the chap from the reception at the riad I stayed, joined us. He already had done the trek once before.
