Spotted Eagle Rays are the second largest ray in the world after Manta Rays. They gather in small groups of about 3-12 individuals for mating. The males follow the females around and bite them in the back of the wings during courtship.
These rays were about 50 feet from shore in the Gulf of Mexico between St Petersburg, and Clearwater, Florida.
