Shirley was among the first women to receive a law degree. Later in her career, she started a law firm with a male partner, and upon the first impression, they pinned him as the fierce one. She was just as intense in the courtroom. Shirley has seen many trials in her life, but the Steinberg trial stood out to her, and she wanted to tell this story in writing.
