Jam sessions can be super fun unless you get a case of "JAMNESIA"!! That's when you freeze up and forget every song you ever knew. Happens to the best of us! How do you prepare for a jam session? This video only starts the conversation and I'm sure you guys have your own methods so please share your tips in the comments below! I'd also love to know your favorite songs to bring to a jam session!

A few tips:
1- Go to a jam and just hang out the first time. Don't even play. Just listen, get comfortable, maybe even write down some songs the group is doing.
2- If you want to lead a song, be sure you know what key it’s in, have memorized the lyrics and chords and can count it off too! Best bet is to keep a cheat sheet of songs and keys in your guitar case or on your phone so you don't forget. I say three songs because someone might call the one you were gonna lead and you want to have options.
3- Play along to songs at home to practice using YouTube, Spotify, Amazing Slow Downer, or your own backing tracks.
4- Record yourself at home to see if you like how you sound. You can also practice by making a video of yourself - it definitely is similar to the pressure you’ll feel in public!
