In today’s video, Jason takes on an innovative recycling challenge—recycling old pallets and wood with nails! Using Mt. Baker Mining and Metals’ dual-shaft shredder, Jason starts by breaking down pallets into smaller pieces that can be fed into the hammer mill. The hammer mill then liberates the nails and steel from the wood. A cross-belt magnet then efficiently separates the steel and nails, leaving behind clean shredded and chipped wood as the final product.
Shredded and chipped recycled pallets have numerous applications:
Mulch for landscaping
Bedding for livestock
Fuel for biomass burners
Base material for composting
Raw material for engineered wood products
This video demonstrates how recycling pallets can turn waste into valuable resources while helping to reduce landfill contributions. Contact us to learn more about our shredders and hammer mills for your recycling needs!
