"Saudamani, a bright young girl, is in love with her neighbor, Narendra, and hopes to marry him soon. But her mother and uncle have chosen Ghanshyam for her. Her uncle passes away, and shortly thereafter Saudamini gets married to Ghanshyam who lives with his step-mother; step-brother, and an unmarried step-sister. Saudamani soon comes to know that Ghanshyam is ignored by the family and the servants. She changes all that and slowly and falls in love with him.
