The Irish shut out the Ice Devils in first matchup of the season
It was the first of three meetings between the Fighting Irish and the Ice Devils. The Fighting Irish put in a solid first period of skating and that set the tone for the rest of the game.
Notre Dame wasted no time getting on the board.
At 13:35 of the first period, Peter Madafferi found the the loose puck on a rebound and made it 1-0.
In the second period, the Irish were outplayed and freshman goaltender Ethan Conrad was able to close down the Batavia/Alexander offense with a few pad saves to keep the game scoreless for the Ice Devils.
Spencer Misiak found a rebound and put the puck into the net midway through the second to give the Irish a little breathing room.
In the third, Conrad continued to stump the Ice Devils making a few more pad saves and a good glove save late in the period.
Notre Dame/Attica added one more goal when Misiak found the puck again for his second goal of the afternoon.
Notre Dame/Attica goalie Ethan Conrad recorded his first shutout of his high school career in the 3-0 win.
Batavia/Alexander out shot Notre Dame 24-14 in the game
Notre Dame/Attica is now 2-4 on the season and will play Greece Olympia at home on Tuesday. Game time is 8 p.m. The last time these two teams met, the Irish beat Olympia 2-1 in overtime.
The Ice Devils are now 0-2-1 and will play Rush Henrietta Tuesday in Scottsville at 5:30p.m.
