Iran took responsibility Tuesday for launching dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel as the months-long fighting between Hezbollah and Hamas escalates threatening a wider regional conflict.
The United States and Israel previously warned there would be "severe consequences" in the event of an attack from Iran which backs the militant group Hezbollah.
Israeli civilians were in bomb shelters during the attack, a post on X by the IDF indicated. The Israeli military also reported that air raid sirens sounded across the country.
