While I'm on with making a knife for a customer I thought I'd share with you how I anneal the file.
I heated up the file to non magnetic (glowing red) then slowly let it cool down to room temperature in still air.
Now the file is soft and easy to work with. You can see me make this knife in an upcoming video I will also be hardening and tempering it.
