The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) is asking the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to consider privatizing crossing guards.

FCPD is currently responsible for 164 school crossing locations.

Right now, Fairfax County sworn police officers are the crossing guards students see every morning on their way to school and every afternoon on their way home. But that could change if the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors moves forward with privatizing crossing guards.
