(*)Stradivarius / 1716 Violin Booth
It was named after Mrs. Booth in England, who purchased it around 1855 in order to
form a Stradivari quartet for her sons. It is a well-known instrument for the beauty of its
tone and the strength of its sound, as it was widely played as a concert instrument
around the world, and is in excellent condition.
In 1931, it was acquired by the famous American violinist Mishakov Misha (1896-
1981), and in 1961 it became part of the Hottinger Collection in New York.
Long-term loanee for this period: Julia Fischer
