🟢HOW TO INSTALL HOS? (Noob Edition)
(FYI, we already have an official guide and you can find it here: [ Ссылка ]. Or by typing "#userguide-booklet" in the channel. It's quite confusing though, hence this version. 😜

This one is for the nubs like me so I will be very detailed on this as much as I can. lmao Adopted some lines from the official guide btw.)

⚠️Before you Start (MUST READ!):⚠️
1. Keep a backup of your data. Make sure to keep a backup of your files as the installation will wipe your data

2. Install Google ADB Driver! Make sure to install Google ADB Drivers before continuing. Get the driver here: [ Ссылка ]

3. Identify your Pixel's device family and its codename. You need this so you can download the right files for your device.

Device Family:
•Brooklyn = Tensor G1 (Pixel 6a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro)
•Chelsea = Tensor G2 (Pixel 7a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro)

Device Codenames:
•Oriole = Pixel 6
•Raven = Pixel 6 Pro
•Bluejay = Pixel 6a
•Panther = Pixel 7
•Cheetah = Pixel 7 Pro
•Lynx = Pixel 7a

4. Unlock the bootloader. If your BL is still locked, that is. You must execute this one before the actual installation of HOS. The one in the link is for Pixel 6 Pro, but the process is the same for the Tensor pixels. Be warned that your data will be wiped out when unlocking the bootloader.

✅Required Files:
1. Android SDK Platform Tools (for unlocking the bootloader and flashing the ROM): [ Ссылка ]

3. HOS ROM zip file (can also be found in the pinned post along with the install kit. Links you to the Patreon post. Subscribers/supporters get the full build file a week or two ahead of the non-supporters). You can support our maintainers/developers by subscribing)

✅Installation Steps:
Given that you have understood and completed the "Before You Install" portion and downloaded the required files, you can now start the process (for visuals you may refer to the official installation guide).

1. On your computer, extract the SDK Platform Tools and Install Kits zips. For easier installation, copy all the contents of the extracted Install Kit and paste it into the SDK Platform Tools folder, specifically in the "platform-tools" subfolder.

2. Enter Fastboot mode on your phone by turning it off. When it's turned off, press and hold the Volume Down button and Power button at the same time for 10-15 seconds.

3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.

4. Go to the extracted SDK platform tools subfolder. While in the "platform-tools" subfolder, type "cmd" in the file explorer address bar to open the command prompt.

5. Check the phone connection by typing "fastboot devices" in the command prompt.

6. If successful with step #5, you may now flash the contents of the Install Kit that you have previously extracted and placed in the "platform-tools" subfolder. You can flash it by executing these command lines in the command prompt:

For Brooklyn:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img

For Chelsea:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash init_boot init_boot.img
fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img
fastboot flash vendor_kernel_boot vendor_kernel_boot.img

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
HOS is indeed a helluva OS since you will have the updates directly from OTA (much like that of the stock ROM) after the initial installation. You won't have to manually sideload any update. You can still do so by following the last part of the official guide but I won't suggest that. :P
